Dr. Lon R. Kessler
Dr. Lon R. Kessler has been in practice since 1987. He graduated from Rutgers University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He completed one year of additional training at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.
A published author and lecturer, he is also a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Montgomery-Bucks Dental Society.
Dr. Kessler is married and has three sons. He enjoys computers, golf, bicycling and skiing.

Dr. Amanda Hemmer
Dr. Amanda Hemmer grew up in Abington, PA. She is a graduate of The Schreyer Honors College at The Penn State University and she completed her dental education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She also completed additional training at Abington Memorial Hospital where she graduated from the General Practice Residency Program.
Dr. Hemmer is a member of the American Dental Association and The Academy of General Dentistry. She is also a Committee Member for the Pennsylvania Dental Association and is a Board Member of the Montgomery Bucks Dental Society. Dr. Hemmer has a faculty position at The University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and teaches in The Main Clinic.
Dr. Hemmer lives in Center City Philadelphia with her husband John. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, yoga and spending time with family and friends.
Cassie – Dental Assistant / Front Desk
Cassie was a graduate of the class of 2000 from Boyertown Area High school. She attended the Berks Career & Technology Center for Dental Occupations. She has been in the dental field since 2000 and joined us in 2004 as a dental assistant and a treatment coordinator.
Cassie is happily married with twin boys and a Beagle named Sammy.
When Cassie is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family.
Donna – Hygienist
Donna is a 1977 graduate of Temple University School of Dental Hygiene. She enjoys working in a general practice where she can treat patients of all ages. Donna has been with us since 2004 with an emphasis on the non-surgical treatment of periodontal disease.
In her free time, she enjoys reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Heather - EFDA
Heather has been in the dental field since 1994. She is a graduate of Methacton High School in 1991.
Heather is a great asset to our office.
In Her spare time she enjoys listening to country music and spending as much time as possible with her family.
Heather is married, has 2 beautiful daughters and an American Bull Dog names Nina.
Julie – Hygienist
Julie earned her degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. Julie has been with us since 2007 bringing with her over 20 years experience.
Julie lives in an old farmhouse on 13 acres with her 3 sons, husband and chocolate lab, Moose.
Julie likes being outside walking, hiking, biking and following all of her sons sporting events.
Lori - Hygienist
Lori earned her degree from Temple University School of Dental Hygiene in 1978. She has enjoyed working in both Periodontal and Family Practice.
With her great personality, she is able to calm the most phobic dental patients!
Lori is married, has 3 children, and 2 pets Rudy and Althea that complete her family.
In her spare time she enjoys listening to jazz, playing the sax and loves spending time at the Jersey Shore.
Sandy – Expanded Functions Dental Assistant
Sandy has been in the dental field since 1985. She has been assisting with Dr. Axler since 1999. Sandy is married with three children and five grandchildren.
Sandy enjoys spending time at the shore with family, and the best part is spending quality time with her beautiful grandchildren.
Tammy – Office Manager
Tammy has been in the dental field since 1988. A graduate from Upper Merion High School, she started as a dental assistant and moved up to the front desk, then office manager. She joined our practice in 2008.
Her love for dentistry kept her motivated enough to help educate patients how they can pursue not only a beautiful smile, but a healthy one, too.
She is happily married with two boys and a Golden Retriever, Madison.
She enjoys country music, reading and spending time with friends and family.
The doctors have gone out of their way to make treatment affordable. We appreciate payment for services on the day they are completed. If you have financial conditions that prevent you from keeping your account current, we will be happy to discuss a flexible payment plan with you.
For basic procedures, full payment is required at the time of treatment. Patients undergoing more extensive service must pay half of the balance at the start of treatment and the remaining at the end. Visa, MasterCard and Discover are acceptable forms of payment. Please ask a member of our staff about our prepaid and senior citizen discounts.

When you arrive for your first visit, please be prepared to complete all insurance and health information forms that will allow us to begin your dental treatment. We will ask you to fill out several forms that will get you acquainted with our office.
Your initial exam will last approximately one hour. Oral hygiene instructions will be provided along with suggestions to help you care for your teeth. In most cases, we will also clean your teeth on this visit and provide an evaluation that will outline your existing dental problems and proposed treatment.
